"Send every child back to school with pride..." Who We Are
Our Vision, Mission and Goal
The Little Red Schoolhouse Project ("LRS") is designed to serve families in need, foster and homeless children in Thurston County, sending them "back to school with pride." We are committed to providing, at no cost, school supplies, backpacks, new and gently used coats/sweatshirts, and new socks and underwear to families in need so children can begin the school year with their basic needs for school.
The Little Red Schoolhouse Project was founded in 1991 in response to this need. We are a non-profit organization under the fiscal sponsorship of FAMILY EDUCATION & SUPPORT SERVICES (FESS). Their mission is "to inspire healthy child development through the provision of quality family support services."
In 2019 supplies and clothing were given to almost 2700 students!
